Is Coombe Hill in Gloucestershire a good area for walking?
On a sunny Saturday in September, after perusing the Ordnance Survey map for a short while, I decided to go for a walk around the Coombe Hill area, about 5 miles west of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
I plotted the route without any knowledge of the actual conditions on the ground. I therefore went into this walk not knowing what to expect.
It quickly became apparent that the footpaths around Coombe Hill aren’t walked very regularly, and don’t seem to be maintained by the landowners. Along the way I encounter cows, dogs and plenty of stinging nettles.
